Soil ph testing
Soil ph is one of the most important factors for healthy garden. First you should know the soil ph of your garden in order to grow plants. To check the ph level of your garden soil you have to take uniform section of soil from your garden and check the level of acidity or alkalinity with the help of ph kit. Growth of plants are highly influenced by ph, therefore once you determine the level of ph in garden, you can narrow down your choice of plantation. Some plants perform well in acidic soils and some are suitable for alkaline soils.
Organic matter
Organic matter is an important factor to enhance the level of soil productivity. In your garden you should add sufficient amount organic matter. Organic matter plays an important role to improve the microbial activity in the soil and additionally it improves the water holding capacity of soil. Organic matter can be the vegetable peelings, fallen leaves or animal dung. Organic matter also improves the soil structure of garden.
Transformation of plantation
If the plants that are required for plantation are in containers, prepare the holes or digs where you wish to plant. Remove the container and place the section of plantation into the hole that you made already in garden. Cover the hole properly with soil and add a little quantity of mulching material around the plant. Place the water pipe near to the plantation area so that water reaches straight to the plant roots.
Planting bulbs
Prior to grow bulbs, look for any sort of molds present on them and always choose healthy bulbs for plantation. Also check if there is insect infestation on the upper surface of bulbs. The outer skin of bulb should touch with loose layers of soil and the base of the bulb must be firm enough to hold the plantation.
Soil for proper cultivation
Cultivation of soil is an important step to start successful gardening, but you should take great care of the cultivation time. In time cultivation of plants produce fruitful results. To check either soil is fit for cultivation or not, take a handful amount of garden soil and squeeze it, if it crumbles in your hand the soil is prepared for cultivation. Wait until the enough of moisture remove from soil.
